Governor of Akwa Ibom State

Umo Eno is a clergyman, founder and lead pastor of the All Nations Christian Ministry International.

He was born on May 10, 1964 in Ikot Ekpene, Nsit-Ubium local Government Area of the State. He started his early education in Lagos State at the Local Authority Primary School before returning to Akwa Ibom for his secondary education at St Francis Secondary School in Eket. He completed his secondary school education at Victory High School, Ikeja.

He went ahead to obtain bachelor and master’s degrees in public administration from the University of Uyo. Pastor Eno is also a graduate of Pan-African College’s Lagos Enterprise Faculty (LBS), and holds a Nationwide Productivity Award (FNCHI). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D at the University of Uyo.

A visionary Christian leader and an entrepreneur par excellence, Eno is the Governor/chief executive officer of Royalty Group, a company he founded in 1997 with business interest in hospitality, manufacturing and oil/gas sector with over 500 direct employees spread across Nigeria.

The Governor, as he is called in Royalty Group, is an ordained apostle in the body of Christ and the under-shepherd of All Nations Christian Ministry International. His thriving career began in 1982 when he joined the banking industry, working with Union Bank of Nigeria before venturing  into private business. He was at Bertola Machine Tools between 1985 to 1990 and from 1990 to 1997 worked with Norman Holdings Limited where he rose to the position of group general manager (GGM), commercial services before leaving to establish Royalty Hotels and Recreations Limited in 1997.

He has held many appointments including the chairmanship of Akwa Ibom Hotels and Tourism Board from 2004-2007. He’s the two-star Paul Haris Fellow of Rotary Club of Eket District 9140 and has received several awards for his public-spirited life. He is a recipient of the National Productivity Award and a fellow of Nigerian Catering and Hotel Institute (FNCHI).

He was appointed Commissioner of Lands and Water Resources by Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2021 and is credited with decentralising the issuance of certificates of occupancy that had discouraged business people from investing in the State. He is an author of many books.

Umo has been married to his beloved wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno for the past 35 years and together they have six grown-up children and a grandson.
